 Big 12 Makes History With Perfect Weekend

Stat sheet: The Big 12 made history with a 12-0 sweep of its opponents. In the conference's 12-plus years, it had never had a perfect weekend with all of its teams playing and winning. The 12 games had an average score of 45-17. ... Big 12 teams scored 71 touchdowns - 33 on passes, 27 on runs and 11 on defense or special teams. ... The touchdown passes averaged 25 yards, the scoring runs averaged 11 yards and the defense/special teams averaged 46 yards. ... 24 of the 60 touchdowns from scrimmage were over 20 yards. ... Big 12 quarterbacks combined for 250 completions in 365 attempts (68.4 percent) for 3,475 yards with 39 TD passes and just eight interceptions. ... Through two weeks of the season, Big 12 QBs have thrown for 64 touchdowns with 21 interceptions.

Television tip: Starting Monday, the conference's television partners will start their 12-day/6-day selection process for game telecasts. Games of Sept. 20 are first on the selection docket. ABC will be taking a look at selecting the Miami-Texas A&M game for either a regional (2:30 p.m.) or prime-time (7 p.m.) telecast. Check www.Big12sports.com for the announcement on Monday mornings.
